Frame drops with Hardware Acceleration enabled

Why does Hardware Acceleration make scrolling so laggy on my MBP (Retina 2012) ? I get about 50% less frames when enabled.
Is this a Chromium or GPU issue?

I'll leave it on disabled... for now.

Me too, why went I scrolling down so much laggy on iMac (Retina 2017). it's more than 50% fewer frames 60 to 70% fewer frames.  Do you know the issue with Spotify?  Hardware Acceleration?
