How can I delete greyed out Local files?

How can I delete greyed out Local files?

(macOS Mojave 10.14.4)

My Question or Issue:

I am having issues with trying to delete 2 greyed out, local files. They're really bugging me. When I double-click to play, it obviously shows a blue popup saying "Spotify can't play this right now" etc etc. However, when I'm trying to delete it, it doesn't do anything. Any suggestions? Should I clear the Local file cache? I just got my new MacBook Air and I've had these files since late 2017.

Hey @mishmqdsi! Welcome to the Spotify Community. ^^

These files might be stored on another device of you (e.g. an old desktop computer of you). Could you check if you have access to old devices of you with Spotify on it to check if they've been added there?

And yes clearing the local file cache can also help. ^^

Let me know how it goes!

Peace

Hey,

Because I'm on a mac, is there a specific folder I should go on to clear cache?

Thanks for the reply!

Try this:

  1. Click Spotify in the menu bar then Quit Spotify.
  2. Open Finder then click Go > Library in the menu bar. (You may need to hold the Alt key if Library isnโ€™t visible).
  3. Open Caches and delete the com.spotify.Client folder.
  4. Click the back arrow.
  5. Open Application Support and delete the Spotify folder.
  6. Download and install Spotify.

Let me know if that helps, thanks! ^^

Peace

Yeah,

It didn't work. Clearing the cache didn't work, and I don't have access to the other computer.๐Ÿคท๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ
