I can't upload a cover image for my playlists

My Question or Issue

I have a MacBook Pro without a touch bar and Spotify won't let me upload images that are under 300 x 300. I have found heaps of photos above that measurement, but it still doesn't work. I've had Spotify for 3 years now, and on 3 devices (MacBook Pro, iPhone 6 and Toshiba laptop), and on the laptops, it wouldn't upload, and on the phone, you can't (which is normal).

Please help!

I'm afraid that the only solution to this problem is choosing a cover photo that is over 300x300. At least I'm not aware of any other possibility.
