Liked Songs does not update between system sleep cycles

My Question or Issue

Sometimes I add music to my "Liked Songs" playlist on a different device, when I reopen Spotify on my Windows desktop when I wake it from Sleep, it refreshes and shows the updated list of music, on Android as well. My mac however doesn't seem to do this, after waking it up from sleep, it does not refresh the list of songs in my playlist. The only way I figured out about fixing it is either to reopen the app, or install a update that might be waiting to be installed.
