Local files lost after spotify app is closed

I have a set of two albums that are local MP3 files on a macbook. I have uploaded them to a playlist thereby putting them in my local files list aswell. Whenever I close out of spotify though the file locations are lost and I have to reimport them. Also, when I try to upload the same set of files on my phone (Nexus 5) I find that the playlist will get stuck in pending mode. I have tried seperating the files to a seperate playlist as well and the original playlist will complete syncing but the temp playlist with the songs in there will be stuck pending then. Has anyone had an issue like this before?
