Local songs are incorrect length if they are too long

My Question or Issue

If I try to import an 18-minute local song using my Mac Spotify client, it appears as 0:01 length. This causes an issue when syncing the songs across devices.

This does not happen on Windows.

Same: Only Skin (a 17 minute song by Joanna Newsom, who is not a Spotify artist) never scrobbles for me via last.fm. It also shows up as 0:01 in Spotify. I'm using Spotify desktop on OSX (Mohave 10.14.4) using a 2017 MacBook Air.

Update: Apparently now local files 15+ minutes long don't even play on Spotify. They appear grayed out.

Thanks posting here in the Community! We'll gladly shed some light on the situation.

Keep in mind that depending on the type of local file, there can be limitations if it can be played correctly or even at all. If you have issues, they should reach out to the store they bought the file from and ask for a different format. You can find a list of all supported formats as well as  other useful info on importing local files in this support article.
