Long playlists keep playing from beginning unprompted

I have a couple of pretty long playlists. Sometimes I like to scroll down to a random point and start playing from that point. Other times, I select shuffle play. The problem is that both playlists, after playing a few songs, seem to return to the beginning, unrprompted. I end up hearing the same few songs from the beginning of the playlist over and over again.

It's definitely a bug, but I can't figure out how to fix. I've tried copying all the songs to a different playlist. I've tried resinstalling the app on my computer. 

This running the Mac client v 1.0.69.336.g7edcc575 and Mac OS Sierra 10.12.6

Having to start each song manually is driving me nuts...
