Hey @izkarim,

Welcome to the Community!

We'll do our best to help you install Spotify on your MacBook.

First of all we'd recommend clearing all Spotify files from your computer. Those can cause errors with installing a newer version of the app if an installation has failed in the past. You can follow this Guide.

After that download the latest Spotify version directly from our official website.

Let us know how if goes.

Hey @izkarim,

Thanks for the reply.

Sorry to hear that you still can't install the app. Here is something else you can try:

  1. Open Finder and, in Finder’s menu bar, select Go > Go to Folder. In the box, type the following location: /private/etc/hosts and press return
  2. A new Finder window will open and your Mac’s hosts file will be selected. Click and drag it out of the Finder window and drop it on your desktop
  3. To open it, simply double-click and it will display the file’s contents in TextEdit
  4. Check for any entries with Spotify in the address
  5. If you do find any lines with Spotify, please remove them
  6. Save your changes and reinstall Spotify

Note that this issue might be related to the fact that you're not running the latest version of Mac OS - Big Sur, in which case there might not be that much we can do from our end.

Keep us posted. We're always one reply away.

Cheers!
