MacOS how to disable autostart spotify on start up?

the recommended option via settings didn't work for me. I ended up renaming Spotify app to Spotify2 and all is good.

Hey @gondo.

Thanks for getting in touch!

You should also be able to decide which app to have launched at startup by right-clicking it from the dock and going to options. You should see the option there. This works for any other app as well!

Glad your work-around worked though 🙂

Have a nice day!

I have tried all options to stop Spotify opening at startup 1) Option clicking in dock 2) Login items 3) Spotify application preferences None of them works. To me it is egregiously invasive to have an app behave in this way, so I am going to delete it. I am then going to unsubscribe from Spotify, because if they are invasive in one way they are likely to the invasive in others. Don't behave like this and expect to get away with it. You forget who the customer is.

Anyone figure this one out?  It's annoying.   There's nothing under preferences and als the right click "disable auto login, " whatever, does not work too.
