My podcast episodes are not updating on the Mac app

My podcast episodes are not updating on the Mac app

I am using the Mac app on my MacBook Pro. The podcasts aren't updating. I have tried clearing my app cache etc. But e.g. the most recent podcast from The Diary of a CEO with Steven Bartlett is Feb 2. I have all episodes selected and newest to oldest filter. Presumably it is not fetching the most up to date podcasts. This is tru eon other podcasts I listen to and doesn't solve with 'turn it off and on again' - app or mac

Thanks for reaching out. Could you please provide us the following:

  • Is this on all devices or only on this Mac?
  • What model is it and which Mac OS Version do you use?
  • The exact Spotify Versions you use.
  • When did this start happening?
  • Does the web player work as expected?
  • Screenshots or a video of the behaviour

With this information, we’d be happy to investigate.

Same for me. My Spotify App is up to date. I'm using the Mac mini M1. Today is May 10th, my latest podcast episodes are from Jan 27th. Web player works fine.

Sorry to see you've been affected as well and thanks for the info!
Could you please provide us with the rest of the details @Joan has asked for in the previous reply, namely:

  • The exact Spotify version you use;
  • When this has started happening &
  • A screenshot of how things look like on your end.

Have you also tried any troubleshooting so far? If yes, please let us know what steps you've already gone through.

As soon as we have enough details we'll be able to start investigating where the root of this issue lies.

My Question or Issue

New episodes of some of my podcasts are not showing on the Mac app. Some are stuck at April 2024 others work load fine. The example shows the Mac app on the left and the browser on the right.

 

I tried to:

1. Reinstall the app

2. Log out & log back in

3. Clear storage and cache

4 Filter, or try to get to the podcast in several different ways

 

When I search for the newer podcast in the desktop app, the episode can be found and plays fine.
