No Spotify icon on new Macbook M1 2020 Touchbar

How come the Spotify icon and controls are no longer available on the latest Macbook M1 2020?

Does anyone know if I can get it on the touch bar still? Or is it no longer available?

Unfortunately, it didn't work. Have Spotify taken away the feature? Or Apple removed the permission for the feature?

Since you're on a newer version of the Mac, it may take some time for this feature to be enabled on your version of the Mac. You can also create a new Idea about this here. 

I'll pass your feedback on to the right folks.

And yes, they just removed Spotify app from Mac App Store for M1 chip MacBooks, cause app from Spotify web-site is available for download. Great work Spotify!

What if you installed a downloaded version of the app from the app store that is on an external hard drive. Do you think that would work?

You can give that a try and see if that works. It's not an official way to download the app, but if you'd like to give it a try, you can let me know the results here.
