No sound on OS X Yosemite.

Solved!

No sound on OS X Yosemite.

Hi,

When I listened to music yesterday, the music suddently stoped. It looks like the music is still playing (the 'second counter' in the bottom continues counting up and the progress bar moves) but no sound.

I tried to play some music on itunes, which works fine

Also followed the guide to uninstall and do a clean install.

running OS X Yosemite and the latest version of spotify

Any ideas?

/Sebastian

In advanced settings (from preferences) try turning off "Set the same volume level for all tracks".

Hi there and welcome to the community,

Do you still have this issue? If so, could you try doing a full reinstallation of the app, including removing your local cache/data files.

Click on the Speaker icon in bottom right and check what is set in the CHOOSE DEVICE TO PLAY ON. Make sure it says PLAYING ON This Computer. Mine had got set to another computer on the same network. Once I changed it to This Computer all was fine.

".. play all songs at same volume"

Thank you, this totally spolved the silence for me immediately. This is such an absurd problem that is still happening with the latest version of spotify.
