So I have had this problem for a few days, and I tried everything changing the proxy type, connection settings through windows, etc. I read a comment about McAfee causing problems for people. It just so happnened the McAfee trial expired three days ago as well. So I uninstalled McAfee and it worked fine. I then installed Norton as my new computer's security system. It's too bad McAfee was super shady.
Hello Yes, unfortunately, I've still got the error I have the problem with my Windows phone but the biggest and most often problem is on my company's computer where I can not adjust any proxy or connection settings
Only thing that worked for me, was to delete the cache. Every single time.
So I wrote a small script to do that for me, it's a great workaround.
Make a text-file with notepad, and paste the following lines:
title Clearing Spotify cache
echo Goto directory
echo Delete old backup
rmdir C:\Users\SANDOR\AppData\Local\Spotify\StorageBackup\ /q /s
echo Backing up old cache
Rename C:\Users\SANDOR\AppData\Local\Spotify\Storage StorageBackup
Change the parts "SANDOR" with your own username on the computer!!
Save your file "ClearCache.bat" and put it on the Desktop. Now you can run it everytime before you start Spotify.
I would've tried to add the file, but .bat-files are not allowed.
After trying everything here I just deleted the faulty software and went back to my previous music supplier. If every other program that I need runs fine and you cannot figure out how to let me log in, then its not me, its you.
