Play/Pause keys not working on Mac

A brief description of the issue: After using youtube in any capacity, play/pause key ceases to function in Spotify without closing chrome

Steps to reproduce the issue:

Open Spotify and Chrome
Start a playlist
Play and pause a youtube video
What steps you’ve tried already: Reinstalling both Chrome and Spotify, restarting the computer.
