Playlist shuffle stops after two songs

Playlist shuffle stops after two songs

Account: Family Plan

Country: UK

Device: MacBook Pro

Operating System: macOS Ventura

After playing anything, Spotify kept queuing the same song (not in my playlists) on a loop. So I dumped the cache, uninstalled the app and re-installed it.

Now any playlist I play in shuffle stops playing after two songs.

The play bar at the bottom displays the first song while the second is playing. Then it stops. Switching shuffle on/off and repeat on/off does nothing.

I've done everything suggested in the forum. It hasn't fixed my issue.

I've used the app for years with no problems until today.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Hey @Monoboy,

Thank you for reaching out here in the Community.

Could you please test this with a different account? If a family member has a Spotify account, it'd be great to ask them to log in on your device to see if the app behaves the same way. This will help us understand if it's account related or not.

It's also a good idea to check with a different network connection to see if it makes any difference. In case you don't have another one available, you can use a mobile data hotspot to test it.

In case the issue persists, we'd also suggest that you head to this article in order to double check if Spotify is added under the list of the apps with blocked connections through the firewall. If it is - make sure to remove it as this could interfere with the performance of the app on your PC.

Let us know how it goes 🙂

Thanks for the reply Lyubka. I forgot to check back as the problem ceased after 24hrs. I did nothing different. It just stopped happening the next day. Maybe the cyber winds blew from the East?

The problem was local to me; everyone else in the house had no issues. So it must've been an issue with my Mac.
