Playlists from iTunes not playing properly in Spotify

My Question or Issue

 On my iMac, all my iTunes playlists show up in Spotify in the iTunes section, so I dragged one from the iTunes section and into the Spotify playlist section so that it will play on Spotify on all my devices.  The playlist does not show up on my other devices, like my iPhone.  If I try and play the playlist, it plays from my iMac, but only on my iMac.  If I try to send it to my Amazon Echo in the kitchen, it will not play.  I get a message the song is not availble for that device.  Why?  Am I doing something wrong for bringing an iTunes playlist into Spotify?  How is that supposed to be done so that I can bring an iTunes playlist into Spotify so that it works?
