Cannot play Podcasts on any of my device apps. Only on Web version in Windows.
I have premium - just updated app on Macbook Air and Iphone X and DOES NOT WORK AT ALL on either of these. When pressing play button nothing happens! Issues happened before AND after updating. However, I can play podcasts on a web browser on my Windows computer. Please fix this bug!

Hey everyone,
Thanks for your replies.
Could you tell us if this issue started after any recent OS update?
Changing tunes, we suggest that you sign out everywhere from this link. Once you do this, restart your devices and let us know if the issue still persists.
We'll stay tuned.
Having the exact same problem, have cleaned reinstalled, have turned phone off and on. Problem only occurs with a specific podcast “Congratulations - Chris Delia” but every other podcast works fine???
Also having this problem all of the sudden as of 10 mins ago… can’t play ‘Violating Community Guidelines’ or the ‘H3 Podcast’ on my iPhone or iPad. All my other podcasts are fine. Have done all the suggestions as per above but nothing. Please resolve.
Did exactly what you suggested, no luck. At least 4 podcasts I’ve tried not working at all. Please advise.
The clean reinstall did nothing and I done every other thing on this thread. I can't listen to "the no sleep podcast" but I can listen to "I am in eskew" I tried a few others but majority are not playing. I have a Google pixel 3a.
Hello, I cannot play any podcasts either. On my android phone I have uninstalled, restarted, reinstalled and no change. They will not play on my windows laptop either which leads me to conclude that it is not down to the installation of an app but something linked to my account. I am a premium subscriber (for now).
Exact same issue here.

Sorry for the trouble. Podcasts should be working now.
If you are still having this issue, please post in this thread that I have linked below:

I am also having the problem trying to watch the "Two Bears one cave" podcast where it just doesn't play on my desktop or phone, both after fresh installs. Other podcasts such as Joe Rogan's works fine however...
I'm having this same issue, but on secondary devices like PS4/PS5 and the native spotify app in my car (not streaming from my phone). Noticing it predominantly with Bandsplain.
Hello, this is happening to me as well. My music plays normally, but when I try to play any podcasts (this is from my desktop), there will either be no sound or it will jump from episode to episode without playing any sound.
Today the podcasts I tried listening to are American Hysteria and Stuff They Don't want you to Know. I logged in and out and tried several different browsers. Please help
Hi folks,
Thank you for your posts in this thread. We're sorry to hear that you're having issues with playing your podcasts. We had an ongoing issue about this but it should be fixed now.
@TheIronist - would you mind reinstalling Spotify to see if the issue persists?
@CamWight - can you send us the URI of the podcast so that we can have a closer look directly from our end?
@bee707 - can you let us know if this occurs with just that podcast or multiple podcasts?
In the meantime we also recommend that you perform a clean reinstall of the app (this is not an option for PS4/PS5) to make sure there's no old cache files causing this by following the steps here?
We'll be on the lookout for your replies.
Take care!
Hi Jeremy, thank you for your response.
Mine seemingly happens on random podcasts. I would say half of the podcasts I try to listen to do not play. Please let me know if you need any other info.
Thanks again!
Hey folks,
Thank you for keeping in contact and for the info shared.
To continue investigating your cases, include in your next response the make, model and OS version of the affected device, along with the Spotify version you're currently running.
Also, it would be great if you could record a short video where we can take a better look. You can attach it to your next response by using the Insert Video option in the post editor. You can also upload it to Google Drive and share the link with us (make sure the video has the permissions for anyone to see it).
Lastly, let us know if trying with a different network makes any difference or not, to include that info to the investigation.
We appreciate the time you're taking reporting this issue. We'll be on the lookout.
I cannot play podcast called "philosophize this". I tried logging in and out, clearing app data, playing on web browser, phone, etc. Other podcasts play but not this one.
Hey @Sarahmarie53,
Thanks for your reply in this thread 🙂
Just to confirm, is this happening when you use the app connected to a Bluetooth device or does it happen whether it's connected to an external device or not? Did you notice if this started to happen after a specific event such as an OS update? If yes, please send us the details.
On another note, is this happening on a different account? You can also create a free test account to open it on the affected devices and check if the inconvenience persists there.
Lastly, can you share with us the exact make/model and the OS of the affected devices along with the Spotify version you have installed?
Keep us in the loop!
I have the same problem as Airojade. I had it for years and it's frustrating because I'm paying for premium. It only happens with podcasts, never with songs. And it seems random. For example, I can't play today's Politico's EU Confidential in the browser or on my desktop app. I can't even download it. I mean I'm allowed to do both things, but there's no progress (in either playing or downloading). Meanwhile, playing it from my phone works.
Hi there @cornuta,
Thank you for your reply.
To start with, we recommend that you perform a clean reinstall of the app. This is different from a quick reinstall and could be helpful to get rid of any cached files that might be causing trouble.
On another note, do you use any VPN? If so, try disabling it as Spotify don't support VPNs officially.
We'll be in to lookout for your reply.
Take care!
This is the part that's funny to me...
About two weeks ago I was SUDDENLY able to listen to podcasts on my Denon receiver. I didn't change anything, didn't download an update to anything, and I certainly didn't reinstall anything, they just started working again. That to me means the problem is one that Spotify caused.
This company owes people money for the years they did nothing to resolve this issue.
