Problem handling shuffle when Connect becomes active

1. I'm listening to a playllist on my Android phone with shuffle turned off

2. I open my laptop, where I was previously using Spotify with shuffle turned on

3. the two devices connect

4. Without warning, the phone is now shuffling the playlist

I think the current shuffle setting should override the older one, and not the other way round.

Laptop: MacBook Pro, OSX 10.13.5

Is this the first time this has happened? If so, are you able to recreate it? Does the issue persist if you log out and back in on the device you were using before the devices connect?
