My Question or Issue

Good morning,

I just realized that I have problems to play most of the albums or playlists in spotify. I can find them and open the details but when I click on play nothing happens. There is no thumbnail bottom left and no song details.

I can't add those songs to any playlist or download them.

I already tried logoff and logon and I deleted and installed the app new. Still the same. Songs i regular here or my mixtapes work. Songs I've never played does not work.

Has somebody an idea?

Thanks,

Thorsten

Hey @ThorstenJ.

Thanks for getting in touch!

Could you try removing Spotify from your host files? You can read here how.

  1. Open Finder and, in Finder’s menu bar, select Go > Go to Folder. In the box, type the following location: /private/etc/hosts and press return.
  2. A new Finder window will open and your Mac’s hosts file will be selected. Click and drag it out of the Finder window and drop it on your desktop.
  3. To open it, simply double-click and it will display the file’s contents in TextEdit .
  4. Check for any entries with Spotify in the address.
  5. If you do find any lines with Spotify, please remove them
  6. Save your changes and restart Spotify.

Hope it helps. Let us know if you have further questions.

Have a nice day.
