My Question or Issue

 

I use Spotify Premium on my Google Pixel and my Mac desktop at work. When I fill the queue on my desktop, the queue is persisted to my phone -- which is fine -- but the two devices are out of sync with each other. 

When I leave work and switch from my desktop to my phone, I see the my phone's queue is several songs behind what is current. I have to remove about 20 songs from the queue in order to pick up where I left off. 

 

Then once I continue using my desktop, my queue is the same as if I had never used my phone. Again i have to remove many songs from the queue in order to pick up where I left off. 

The entire queue is syncing across devices, but not the most currently listened to songs. This issue has started in the past week with no apparent change in operating system or spotify version.

Could you try using different device to see if it happens there too?

And have you tried reinstalling your app? If not here's a step by step tutorial.

The two devices are both on the same wifi connection during the day. 

However, the effect persists even when i leave the range of my work wifi and switch to mobile data.

Could you try logging out and back in when you notice the queue is different? 🙂

I logged out and back in on my phone and I'm still getting the same
problem.

I also logged out and back in on my desktop, and I am still getting the issue.

Hi, I reinstalled the app on my phone and the problem went away! Now there is a distinct queue for each device. The new mobile Spotify version is 8.4.67.886 armV7 . Thanks for your help, Nico!

I have this problem a lot. I have spotify open on home windows desktop, work windows desktop, and android mobile. When my mobile app opens i'll sync desktop queues back to whatever it had when it was last open, which usually means my queue resets. Especially annoying when I've spent a while curating my queue for the day, and it gets reset because I accidentally opened my phone app. 

 

Reinstall has not helped.

Can you let us know what other troubleshooting have you tried? Also, clarify if you've ran a clean reinstall of the app, as described here on both your devices.
