REGRESSION: Chromecast Audio not available as streaming device

REGRESSION: Chromecast Audio not available as streaming device

This was an issue for years with much history in this thead:
https://community.spotify.com/t5/Desktop-Windows/Don-t-see-Chromecast-Audio-in-my-device-list-on-Spo...

Spotify DID solve the issue this year because all of a sudden my Chromecast Audio would ALWAYS be available in the list of available streaming devices.

Unfortunately however the functionality has regressed in recent weeks and once again I cannot stream to my Chromecast Audio again.

Please can you reintroduce the fix?

------------------------------------------

Addtional info:

My Chromecast Audio is always ON.

My Chromecast Audio is visible by my Mac because I can see it as a castable device in Chrome

However when I go to stream to it from Spotify Desktop Mac app it does not appear in the list.

The previous worked around still works:  if I launch Spotify on my Android phone the Chromecast Audio is visible, I can then cast to it from there and at the same time the Desktop app becomes aware of the Chromecast and I can resume control from my Mac.  Not ideal.

I was soooo happy when this started working.  Please fix it, I'd be very gratful.

Hi there @HaggleLad,

Thanks for reaching out about this in the Community!

We'd recommend you run a clean reinstall of the Spotify App on your computer, following the steps in this Spotify Answer. This will assure that all app data is cleared and you're running the latest version.

It also might be worth giving your Chromecast Audio a factory reset.

Hope this info is helpful. Don't hesitate to reach out again if you have more questions.
