SHUFFLE is broken! Spotify FIX IT!!!!!

So if Shuffle is prioritizing songs that are recently added then that is NOT a shuffle.  If I did want to play new songs I'd set up a new playlist just for those and play those in that order. Other problems with adding new songs is I may just dump all of an artists back catalogue in, and by prioritizing all of those as they are newly added I'd hear too much of that artist.

No a SHUFFLE means just that. Think of it like playing cards at a casino. The casino shuffles the deck and puts them in a card holder. You wont ever repeat any of the cards until all of the cards have been played once. If you do want to give us a curated shuffle give us that option by all means, but also give us the TRUE shuffle.

You are also not answering the question of how many songs you cache in your q on shuffle? I've been trying to UAT test it , and its always just 100 songs in the q and it bounces back to the first song. So that makes it impossible and worthless to have playlists of more than 100 songs long.

Your other selection doesnt work either as you suggest playing My Music. Now within that I'll add in hundreds of albumks of bands I like. And at times I like to listen to that whole album , but a lot of songs will not work out of context. For example Princes Sign of the Times album is designed to be played as a single cut, and to listen to that in bits across a shuffle is widly inappropriate. I like a playlist of where I take say a bands defining singles and put all those into a playlist. Think of it like the finest indie disco ever that lasts for a week. NOW thats the ultimate tastemaker playlist. Its not just variety of music I crave its a curated (by me) playlist that i can still get a surprise of.

I'm really not prepared to accept and for your company to hide between a 'we dont have a time frame' , thats just frankly bull**bleep**.

Us consumers have been online for a LONG time now, and as we had all this stuff back in the early mp3 trading days of the net then we just will not accept that a service (that we will happily pay for) doesnt ort wont have the ability to do this.

Give us smart playlists and it gives us yet another reason to ditch the much hated itunes! I love everything else about spotify, but by god does your shuffle function suck!

Yup, the shuffle is **bleep** on desktop and even worse when using my phone and Chromecast.

If it doesn't get fixed any time soon I'll just switch to iTunes even though I swore to never install that POS again..

I listened to a playlist twice today, on shuffle. Both times I listened it played in the exact same order. Spotify has gone from an amazing platform to a real POS.

Ya it's a disaster. I'm trying to shuffle my playlist that's 127 songs and I'm not getting certain artists no matter how many times I reshuffle it.

I am on desktop on Windows 7. Shuffle is a critical feature for any music player so it's extremely frustrating that they can't get it right.

I find the shuffle useless on my phone.  I had a playlist with a few hundered songs to listen to while running.  I run for 1 hour 3 times a week.  I would hear the same songs over and over and some I would never hear.  Why can't the app "remember" where I left off and not repeat a song until all songs in the playlist are played?  Even if my listening to that playlist happens over many days.

I gave up and now have 20 different one hour long playlists, that i rotate through.  What a pain. 

And I used the web player to build my playlist, and it would tell me how many minutes long a playlist was.  Now it doesn't do that anymore.  Another pain...
