Sick of Spotify removing features?

Sick of Spotify removing features?

Is anyone else tired of Spotify progressively making the app worse and repeatedly ignoring feature requests or removing useful functionality?

I am utterly sick of the way Spotify handles updates and restricts the way we can access our music.

- They have removed shuffle functionality from mobiles.

- Folders are now fundamentally useless, so having an organised library of musc no longer works.

- Restrictions of the number of tracks that can be included in songs and deleting anything over 10,000 without any warning or alerts.

- No way to share folders of music with friends, or view all tracks in a folder.

If anyone has suggestions of great alternatives to Spotify that actually listen to their customers and make their apps better (not worse) with time.  Please post them here.

Other useful info would be services to transfer all music away from Spotify in order to start using another service.

I suggest everyone start a new hashtag #spotifysucks for anything that is being ignored by #spotifycares, who do nothing at all - ever.  I've been contacting them for years and all they can ever say is that they will pass a message onto the relevant people. Which is about as useful as an ejector seat in a helicopter!

This post will probably be removed, or maybe they really do ignore everything that is ever said or requested so it might survive for a while.

I'd like to hear everyone's feedback before they do remove it.

      >>  If anyone has suggestions . . . .

Your summary perfectly describes how impossible it is for any musician to use the progression of defective players that Spotify pushes onto you.

However, Spotify has the best music!  So let's start there . . . .

My suggestion is that-- first-- you need one of those Spotify players of the past that actually work for serious musicians.  You need one computer-- either Windows or Mac-- that can process your entire 250K track MusicLibrary.

Specifically I suggest, you need to be able to

* Filter your entire 250,000 track MusicLibrary across all playlists under your Spotify MusicLibrary playlist folder by [any text];

* Sort any filtered subset of your 250K track MusicLibrary by Artist, Album, or TrackName as you wish;

* Shuffle any subset of your 250K track MusicLibrary without a single repeat if you so desire;

* Play in AlbumOrder all the 952 tracks-- that is how many I have-- of Astor Piazzolla you have saved in your 250K track MusicLibrary when you want;

* Prepare pre-Shuffled playlists for your mobile with the mix of repeats that you select, from zero repeats to 3,333 tracks.  My favorite way to shuffle for my mobile is to use on my DeskTop the Web page at >> this link. <<

My friends, including some documentation over at the RedditSpotifyWiki, showed me how to block those progressively moreDefective players-- then find and install a Spotify player that will handle all of the above items-- starting with I need to provide a sortable and filterable listing of all of the 106,461 tracks and growing that I have in my entire MusicLibrary playlist folder.  My favorite heavy-processing Spotify player is 0.9.15.27 on Windows-- but that [ Reddit Spotify Wiki ] has instructions also for Mac.

Instead of [sharing folders of music] with my friends, I just make "Public" all the playlists under my complete MusicLibrary folder.

Go with Spotify!
