Some songs will not play on web player or on mobile app

Some songs will not play on web player or on mobile app

Problem: I noticed a few same songs are greyed out and will not play on my Spotify web player (not desktop app) nor on the mobile app and realized a pattern that those are the songs I had purchased on iTunes before I started using Spotify. I have not yet synced my Spotify with my iTunes account/songs, though. 

Can you please help?

 

Plan: Premium (but I had the same problem even when I had a free plan)

Country: USA

 

Device: iPhone 8S and MacBook Air (a few years old) 

Operating System: MacOS Mojave 10.14.3 for laptop and iOS 12.1.4 for iPhone

Thanks for getting in touch!

 

Greyed out songs could mean that the music is not available in your region. You could find out if this is the case by asking a friend or family member if they can play the music.

 

Another thing that can happen that it's local files that aren't available anymore. Try to navigate in the app to the Artist profile and see if you can play the song from there.
