Songs intermittently cut out after upgrading to El Capitan

Songs play for a few seconds then sound stops but the song keeps running.  Then the song picks up 3 or 4 times throughout the life of the song.  Usually displays an error that it can't play current track when it stops.  I am streaming from my mac.  Its not the wifi because it plays fine on my other mac streaming running Yosemite.  I thought maybe pushing it from my iphone would help but it doesn't.
