Every time I watch a video on Youtube or Netflix, Spotify mutes itself when I play music afterward. It is on full volume and the music is playing, but there is no sound coming out. I've tried reinstalling the app, restarting my computer, and currently, the only solution is to restart the app every time this happens. Is there an easier method?

Hi there!

I know it sounds simple, but it's often overlooked. Could you try restarting your device? If that doesn't help, try a clean reinstall of the app. Just follow these steps.

If you're still having trouble, could you let me know the exact version of Spotify and the exact version of the operating system you're running?

I've already tried both, and I've even removed any remaining sound sources from google chrome before opening Spotify, but it still doesn't work. Once I use another app that requires sound, Spotify "mutes" even on full volume, and it shows the "can't play the current song" sign after five seconds.

 

The Spotify version I have is 1.1.28.721.g5b5ee660 and I have MacOS 10.15.3.
