Spotify Will Not Open On My Mac! Frozen/Unresponsive!

Description

I double tap Spotify on my dock to open. The icon bounces for roughly a minute, before the program is flagged as frozen & unresponsive with a request to 'Ignore' or send a report to Apple. This then leads to the program being closed/force quite.

A more detailed description, using numbered steps

1. I uninstalled as suggested by Spotify using all appropriate steps.

2. I then attempted re-install & start, this did not work.

3. I checked all forum posts, but could find no direct message relating to this issue.

4. I have also used clean my mac, checked registry etc -  no luck.

5. The issue continues! My account works fine on others computers (windows, iPad). But not on my macbook pro.

What I expected to happen

I expected the app to open on the main log-in screen or straight to the homepage (if the function of remaining logged in was still in place following my last use).
