Hi there @iririr,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community.

We suggest that you perform a clean reinstall of the app. This will make sure there's no old cache files causing this.

Another useful step to try is removing all lines from your hosts file by following the steps bellow:

  1. Open Finder and, in Finder’s menu bar, select Go > Go to Folder. In the box, type the following location: /private/etc/hosts and press return
  2. A new Finder window will open and your Mac’s hosts file will be selected. Click and drag it out of the Finder window and drop it on your desktop
  3. To open it, simply double-click and it will display the file’s contents in TextEdit
  4. Check for any entries with Spotify in the address
  5. If you do find any lines with Spotify, please remove them
  6. Save your changes and restart Spotify

Let us know how it goes.

Take care!

Thank you for the input Jeremy. I did all of this but it didn't help.

Hi there again @iririr,

Thank you for your reply and confirmation.

Can you restart your router to see if the issue persist?

If that doesn't do the trick, can you log in with a different account - such as a friend's or a family member's to see if anything changes? This will help us understand if it's account related or not.

Also, does this occur on one specific device or multiple devices?

Keep us posted 🙂

Cheers!

The error seems to persist. Currently no way of checking with a different account, but deleting the app and the other files you mentioned only helped temporarily. I also rebooted the router.

It’s only a problem on my Macbook, iPad and iPhone work without a hitch.

Hey @iririr,

Thanks for reaching out and apologies for the confusion.

Currently the app doesn't support Apple Silicon and issues with its use are expected behavior. It seems however that other users have also requested this to be changed and they've created this idea. You can add your support there by up-voting the idea. We'll inform on any developments there, as soon  as there are any. So make sure to subscribe, if you haven't already.

The Idea Exchange is a great way for us to keep track of what changes our users are interested in and how popular a certain idea is. This page explains how exactly your feedback reaches Spotify.

Hope this info helps. The Community is here for you if you have any questions.

Thanks Mihail,

Since all macs will transition to apple silicon, this must only be a matter of time? Surely I don’t have to petition for this?
