Spotify desktop app on Mac completley unusable

Spotify desktop app on Mac completley unusable

Brief description of the issue: App loads correctley and loads saved tracks and playlists, but without any artwork, every playlist is empty and music playback doesn't work. The web player works without any issue in Chrome browser.

The issue appeared I belive after installing Windows using Bootcamp Assistant and might be caused by deleting some files before the install to free up some disk space.

Steps to reproduce the issue:

  1. Start the app

What steps you’ve tried already:

  • Reinstall the app (both using instructions from here and CleanMyMac app) including restarting the device itself
  • Trying to log in into my friend's account

Your device and operating system (e.g. MacBook Air, 10.10 OSX): MacBook Air, macOS 10.14.4

Type of Spotify account you have (Free/ Premium): Premium

The app version of Spotify you’re using: 1.1.12.449.g4109e645

Hey @jmlfilm, welcome to the Community.

Hope you're doing great!

Could you try the steps from this Spotify Answer to see if that helps?

Also, make sure to install macOS Mojave 10.14.6 which Apple released recently.

Hope it helps 🙂
