My Question or Issue

Hello,

My Spotify app doesn't works on my computer. I tried the Microsoft app, the Desktop app, both don't work since few months. I tried a lot of issues (clear cache, update audio drivers, reinstall both applications, I have been helped by a Rockstar, I tried to create an exception for Spotify in the Firewall etc etc etc). I think a will stop premium, because I paie for a service which doesn't works. This forum is my last trial. I hope that someone can help me !

Hey there @Guillaume97

Welcome to the Spotify Community! That doesn't sound cool, let's see how we can help.

Let us know in more detail what exactly happens, when you try using the desktop app. Do you manage to successfully install it on your PC? If yes, what happens after you click on the Spotify desktop icon?

If it's possible for you, upload a screen recording of the event with your next reply. This info will help us take a closer look at the issue.

Keep us posted!

Petya, thanks to respond,

I tried a new solution, found on the Spotify community. It works. There it
is :

1. If you haven't already, please try a Clean Reinstall it's *Critical*
that you follow the instructions in the guide carefully as they do a lot
more than just uninstalling and reinstalling! You can check out this Spotify
Answer for the process

.
2. *If that failed then I'd recommend you try the steps below:*

- Open Notepad as an administrator (right-click - Open as Administrator)
- go to File - Open and navigate to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc
- Choose "All Files" instead of "Text Documents" next to the File Name
box. You'll see a handful of files. Pick hosts and click on Open
- When the file is open, you will see a block of text with # in front of
each line and might see entries like 0.0.0.0 website.com127.0.0.1
website2.com
- Check for any entries with Spotify in the address. Examples may look
like: 0.0.0.0 weblb-wg.gslb.spotify.com0.0.0.0
- If you do find any lines with Spotify, please remove them
- Save your changes and restart Spotify

*If after trying all of the above then it's time to reach out directly to
Spotify Support for some further support with this issue which can either
be done through this handy page Contact Spotify Support.
*

This page outlines all of the Support Channels that Spotify offer and take
you directly to the one you need. I'd recommend that you quote the Error
Code 30 and also the troubleshooting you've carried out here so the advisor
can take a look in to this behind the scenes a bit deeper!

But, honestly, I'm 22, I've some skills on a computer, I've been searching
for a solution since 5 or 6 months. Most of users can't do that. I hope
that Spotify will rapidly fix the Windows and Desktop application. On a
smartphone, I never met a problem.

Thanks for your message,

Guillaume
