Spotify for Mac sucking up all resources!

This is really starting to bug me. With every new release of Spotify the app uses more and more resources just to play tracks (it's been running at 80+% all morning now, causing my MacBook Pro's fans to make more noise than the speakers). I've even removed all the internal apps, switched off functions like "start from web" and the "what's new" page but it just keeps sucking up my CPU. 

Spotify used to be a lightweight, perfect music player but those days have gone. I hate that I can't just keep an older version installed instead of being forced to update to the latest version. I'm actually thinking about canceling my subscription and going back to buying releases on iTunes.

So has anyone helped you in this? I am having the same problem, but doesn't look like Spotify cares about it.

This problem actually got fixed after a few updates. But helas it has now returned with version 0.9.0.128 😞
