Some background: I've never opened a video file with spotify. I've never added a video file to a spotify playlist.
Today I Airdropped some videos I'd recorded from my iPhone to my Mac and uploaded them to youtube.
I went to delete the files from my hard drive but OSX wouldn't let me because they were all in use by a process.
I checked which process was using one of the video files and lsof reported that it was Spotify.
When I closed Spotify I was able to delete the 12 video files.
My question is: Why is spotify using 12 video files at once?
Also: why is spotify accessing files that I've never opened with spotify?
