Spotify listening activity only updates when listening on phone

When i listen to spotify on my phone, it updates what i’m listening to to my friends. However, when i listen on my laptop (Mac) it does not update my listening activity. Tried clearing caches and what not, still an issue.

Hi, hannarw,

Welcome to the Community. Would I recommend you try a clean reinstall on the Spotify App? It is better than just uninstalling and reinstalling the Spotify App. Link:

Just jumping in here to add some extra info to what @Joel-M suggested.

It might also be worth checking if you're not accidentally logged in to two different accounts on both devices. This Spotify Answer has instructions on how to search for a possible secondary account.

this is like, months later, but the same issue is back around! clean reinstalls have not helped and i am only logged in on one account. still wondering what's up and why it keeps happening

Thanks for your reply!

Can you try to Log out Everywhere? You can do this from your account page. After that log in only on your computer and see if the listening activity is updating.
