Spotify no longer playing MP3 files

Hi, 

Since a few weeks, Spotify Mac no longer wants to play imported local mp3 files. 

I have already tried several solutions:

enabled/disabled the local files button in preferences, trying to add the sources again.  They come up in white, available to play, but when you push the button nothing happens.  So it seems something changed in the software.  Worked before.  And no, they did no change location. 

Spotify Version: 1.1.46.916.g416cacf1 

Mac: 10.15.7 (19H15)

A bug?

Hi @winzclav,

This is odd as for Local files should support .mp3.

Have you attempted to reinstall the app? Try following the steps here.

Following the tips under 'Some of my local files won't import/play' on this page could also help your issue.
