My Question or Issue

Since updating to the last version of the Spotify Desktop app (1.1.5.153.gf614956d) I am unable to play songs. The app plays less than one second of a song and then skips to the next. A blue ribbon appears at the top of the app statin that Spotify was unable to play the song right now and that I shpould download the song.

Downloading does not work, the app remains the state of "waiting".

Songs that are already downloaded cannot be played, I get the same blue ribbon with the same message as mentioned earlier.

I can however use the desktop app to play music on my iPhone. But if I try it the other way around, it doesn't work and songs are skipped.

 

I have already:

- uninstalled an reinstalled the app several times

- used Terminal to remove all spotify related files

- checked my host files for a mention of Spotify (there wasn't)

- tagged and untagged "hardware accelleration"

- tried different streaming qualities

- log out and logged in

 

All to no avail, the problem persists. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

We are aware of an issue with the app and are currently investigating it. Feel free to contribute in this topic where we gather information from affected users and keep everybody up-to-date. We'll get this sorted as soon as possible.
