Spotify taking 9GB of RAM

Spotify taking 9GB of RAM

Plan

Free

Country

 UK

Device

Macbook Pro late 2013

Operating System

Mac, Up to date.

My Question or Issue

Spotify consistently eats RAM.  It reaches >9GB and my machine has run out of space for swap and grounds to a halt.  It takes a day or so without a restart to reach that point.

That's interesting, mine takes a significantly lower amount of RAM (156 MB) and I don't remember when I restarted it for the last time (must be at least a week).

I am on iMac 2017 with 32 GB RAM.

Perhaps the memory leak is in a subset of the program functiknalfun, eg it exists when connected to Bluetooth, or controlling the desktop program remotely from the mobile app.

Comparing how you use it and I use it seems a bad approach, hoping that Spotify technical people will direct me to logs or a way to dump memory usage so they can see what within Spotify is using that memory.

Have turned off  GPU acceleration, as suggested in another thread, but still getting high memory useage: 1.8GB at the moment.  It seems the "ports" metric grows in sync the Memory useage.
