Spotify won't open

I have been using the Spotify desktop app for my Macbook Air for months now and it's worked great. Suddenly a few days ago it just refused to open. When I try I get the beach ball and eventually Spotify stops responding and I have to Force Quit it.

 

I've tried restarting my computer, and even deleting the app and redownloading it from the internet. Also it still works fine on my iPhone and on the webpage version. Something is up with the app.

 

Can anyone help me out with this?

 

Also I haven't recently (in the last few days) changed my operating software or upgraded Spotify.

Please try a clean reinstall of Spotify (different from a normal reinstall)

 

From Spotify's support page:

 

First uninstall the Spotify app, then:

 

  1. Open Finder then click Go > Library in the menu bar. (You may need to hold the Alt key if Library isn’t visible).
  2. Open Caches and delete the com.spotify.Client folder.
  3. Click the back arrow.
  4. Open Application Support and delete the Spotify folder.
  5. Go to http://www.spotify.com/download and reinstall Spotify.

Don’t worry about losing your favorite songs - all your playlists will be waiting for you when you sign in again. You’ll just need to redownload any previously offline synced music.

I'm having same problem.  Where is is GO - LIBRARY in FINDER?

At the top of finder look for "File, Edit, View, Go, Window"

 

Try holding down the "alt (option)" key while clicking on "go" to get to Library

May I have instructions for this when using a PC?

Same, mine just malfunctioned and had the same problem, tho, mine is windows
