Tech issue - two user accounts on one mac

Hi there! 

Recently, I've been experiencing an issue with spotify desktop on my Macbook Pro, running Sierra 10.12.3. I have two user accounts, one for work and one for personal stuff - both of which use spotify. For some reason, whenever I access spotify on one account and then try to access spotify on the other account, I get the following error:

"The application 'Spotify' cannot be opened."

Please help! This happens every time I try to use spotify after having used it on the other account. The only solution so far is to uninstall and then reinstall spotify on each individual user account, but it still happens every time I switch. Is this a recent bug? What is happening? Thank you in advance.
