Tracks keep skipping

Tracks keep skipping

Hi all

 

Does anyone know why my Spotify on my iMac keeps skipping tracks??? It works fine on my PC, but I can't get the web player on my iMac to stay on a track. It literally plays about a second or two of a track and then moves onto the next track. Then does the same again and so on.... very annoying and I can't find a solutions anywhere on the help pages.

Thank you for reaching out to the Community and welcome. We moved your post from Chats to help boards as its content fits better here.

This type of issue is commonly related to some damaged cache stored on your browser. In this case, we'd first recommend clearing all cache from the browser you're using and try again. If the issue persists, could you try it on a private/incognito window to see if it makes any difference?

 

Also, would you mind checking on a different browser to confirm is the issue happens there too?

 

Lastly, could you check if the Desktop app has the same behavior on your Mac? This will give us a better look at the issue.

Thank you for your kind assistance. I managed to cure this in the end by simply downloading the app to my computer rather than using the web player version. The app seems to work fine, although I had to use an older version of the app as my OS is very old. But still, it works at least!!

I've cleared my cache and signed in in an incognito window, with no luck. My spotify has consistently been skipping over 3-5 tracks for weeks. I do not want to install the app on my computer but if the info helps, it's all gravy on the app I have installed on my phone. It's been fine just using the app, but I'd really love to be able to use the web player again someday. Please help! 🙂
