Trouble syncing iTunes

I have a ton of music in my iTunes music library.  I'd like to get it all  into my Spotify library so I don't have to manually go through and add all the artists I like.  It allegedly looks like an easy thing to do; there are several articles like this:

Everything looks fine when I try it, I see my itunes stuff in local files, but when I try to add those titles to the "Your Library" section of the Spotify desktop app, I get a green arrow (for "add file" I suppose), but then...nothing.  The songs don't get added to my Spotify library.  Anyone else have this problem?

Sorry to hear you're having trouble with this. We'll be glad to help clear things up.

When you add tracks from your computer or iTunes to Spotify, they'll only show up in your Local Files section. They shouldn't show up in Your Library.
