USB connection to Amplifier does not show anymore on iMac

My Question or Issue

Since this week Spotify does not show my USB connection to my amplifier anymore, I can only see devices elsewhere in the house (TV, BlueOS). I do not want to use the inferior iMac speakers and want my USB connection back. Please help correcting this

You mean that the amplifier isn't available in the Connect menu, correct? Is it possible to select the amp as a main audio source as shown here? If you haven't already, try performing a full clean reinstall, as this may be a temporary hiccup that this can clear.
