My Question or Issue

I'm unable to unlike a song which is greyed out. It's not visible on mobile or within the web player, however it stays visible in the desktop app.

If there is no fix for this I would appreciate if you could simply reset my account, as I would like to have fresh start.

Thanks!

Hey @user-removed ,

Welcome to the Community! Can you please give it a try by resting your mouse on the top of this song, and then hitting the Delete button on your keyboard? This should remove that song from your playlist.

Unfortunately, you can't reset your account by now but you can manually:

  1. Delete your playlists (command/control-a then backspace/delete)
  2. Delete your songs (command/control-a then backspace/delete)

Please make sure these steps need to be followed on Desktop.

Another way is that you would have to close your account at https://support.spotify.com/close-account and then open a new one at https://spotify.com/signup

Hope this helps. 🙂

Hi @Brunelicia,

Thanks for your quick reply!

Unfortunately doesn't work for me. If I repeatedly press delete at some point the song does go way, only to pop right back. Seems to be more persistent issue.

Cheers,

David

I have escalated this issue, and unfortunately, the the song isn't available in your country you won't be able to unlike it. You can close their old account and open a new one.

In case you want data transferred from the old account into the new one, you should contact Spotify support to get it done for them. You can do this here: https://www.spotify.com/about-us/contact/

Alternatively, I'd suggest just opting out the option to "Show unplayable songs", this should be found on your settings. 🙂

Does pressing fn+Backspace make any difference?

Thanks for following up!

As I just switched back from Apple Music I decided to just open a new
account so all solved for me now 🙂

PS: I indeed tried that option in settings but had no effect either.

Well, @AeroZ I tried to follow this command on my computer, and no actions were taken. I can only delete songs by clicking on then and then hitting the Delete on my keyboard or hitting the three dots and selecting "Remove from your liked songs."

Unfortunately not, really strange issue..

Thanks for chiming in though!

Thanks for letting me know @user-removed , that's good that you decided to open a new account, feel free to reach back here if you need further help. 🙂
