Web Player (Firefox) - unknown device messing with controls / app

Web Player (Firefox) - unknown device messing with controls / app

Hi there,

I have a very strange (and disapointing) issue here.

Os: macOS High Sierra (10.13.3)

Hardware: MacBook Pro-13, 3.1Ghz, 8Go LPDDR3

Plan: Premium (recently upgraded to Family plan, but already had this issue before)

Client: MacOS Desktop app, V 1.0.73.345.g6c9971ef

Also I'm very disgusted with this issue: because I use a Premium account, and encountering this kind of issue with a paid plan is a real joke, guys.

  1. Fresh os reboot, I boot Spotify.app.
  2. App starts, it connects with remote, brings connected devices
  3. Click on available devices. It show current client, and a f***ing "Web Player (Firefox)": I've never used any web-based players, and already checked my other devices to turn them off.
  4. Erratic behaviour : when I see this device, it seems to send to the client these commands :
    1. it can change my current playlist
    2. it can mute and change volume
    3. it can put next track up

I can't relate or define what triggers this behavior nor when it happend: It's totaly erratic as I said. It's not the first time I encounters this issue.

The only thing I suspected is Slack app (because we share music here with my fellow coworkers), but even down: it keeps happening.

Also I can say :

  • I have 0 third party apps / service on my account
  • I removed all my devices
  • Now I can't change my password (Error message : "this **bleep** can't be blank" - a new issue with website ?)

Because I really have the feeling some erratic bot / virus / hacker controls my main music source (thus my brain is not far from my ears, you know), my life took a serious hiccup. 😞

This issue drives me crasy: cant you help me ?

Thanks

Just wanted to add something : closed Mac App, switched to web browser, I encounters the exact same issue.

I'm back to youtube now, and if this keeps on messing : I'll be back to Deezer.
