When I open up spotify on my mac it shows up on my bar then disappears

When I open up spotify on my mac it shows up on my bar then disappears

 

Everytime I open up spotify on my mac, the spotify icon shows up on my bar then disappears. 

 

I've deleted and redownloaded spotify couple times and nothing seems to work. 

 

plz help

This was hapenning too! I decided to unistall to see if the problem would be fixed, and now I cannot even install it again! 😮

Any updates? My spotify is still not working..

 

I've un-installed/deleted cache/restarted/etc-- nothing seems to works

Thanks for getting in touch!

 

Try to reinstall the app more thoroughly using the following instructions:

 

  1. Click Spotify in the menu bar then Quit Spotify.
  2. Open Finder then click Go > Library in the menu bar. (You may need to hold the Alt key if Library isn’t visible).
  3. Open Caches and delete the com.spotify.Client folder.
  4. Click the back arrow.
  5. Open Application Support and delete the Spotify folder.
  6. Reboot your computer
  7. Download and install Spotify.

Hey thank you so much! I actually tried this and it still didn't work..

I did the whole process like 3x. 

=[ Not sure what to do at this point...pretty frustrating...

Are you the administrator of your device? If so, have you tried running the Spotify app as an admin (if you right click on it you should see the option there)?

 

If you have already tried this, then could you let us know your device and OS version?

 

Once we have that information, we can look into this further.

Hi Peter. I haven't been able to run as admin as my spotify app keeps crashing when I try to open it on my Mac

 

I am currently running on Macbook pro MacOS Sierra 10.12.2

Hey Joe and @Danielazzip,

 

Let's try some other things. Go to your account page, and make sure to remove all offline devices from there. 

 

If that doesn't help, go through the steps provided here to change the host file. Just ignore the part about activating friendly feed at the top.
