Why does spotify keeps on playing the songs from the same playlist?

Yesterday I queued a playlist (Deep focus) while I was studying and after my study session I wanted to play some pop music from one of my other playlists but spotify will play just one song from the new playlist and go back to the old playlist (deep focus) I tried queuing different playlists but nothing happens.

Have you already tried clearing the play queue of your device? 

This looks like an issue with items in the play queue at a first glance. Here is more on how to do that.

If this doesn't resolve the issue, try logging out and back in again a few times. It sounds a bit odd, but it forces a sync between the account and your device.
