Why is there still no way to save albums offline on desktop?

So I recently wanted to save some albums for offline listening on my mac, but apparently you still can't do that without having to convert it into a playlist... 

I've found a thread about this from 2014. How can it be, that this is still not possible 6 years later? 

I really don't want to convert every single album so a playlist. Please add this ""feature""...
