Often tracks just won't play without having to force quit and restart the app. I'm currently paying for software that mostly won't work...

In your post title, you mentioned iOS and Mac? Can you let me know which device this is happening on exactly, so I can address your issue more accurately?
Additionally, try a clean reinstall of the app following these steps and if that doesn't help, let me know what iOS device you have, or Mac model you have, as well as the software version. For Mac, you can find this by going to The Menu > About this Mac. For iOS devices, you can find this by going to Settings > General > About.
