[mac OS] Offline storage setting not working correctly

Hi all, 

sorry if this has been posted before - couldn't find it using the search.

Macbook Air Early 2015

Operating System

mac OS Mojave

My Question or Issue

I have changed the Setting for "Offline Storage Location" in the Spotify settings to my external USB drive. After saving, the Cache got migrated to the specified folder, which was good.

(I still had to delete the old files manually in ~/Library/Caches/com.spotify.client)

However, when I stream songs or download anything, it is still saved to the OLD location (on my built-in SSD) and not the NEW location (on my USB).

The setting in the Spotify client still shows up correct (NEW location).

Does anyone else experience this issue & maybe knows how to solve it?
