My Question or Issue

Every time that I try to unpause a song after being idle from Spotify after a while, the pause button turns to play, but then I receive a blue notification at the top that says "Can't play the current song." I have to restart the Spotify app everytime, in order to continue playing the song. This occurs regardless if I am pressing the space bar, clicking the unpause button, or using my keyboard shortcut button. How do I allow Spotify to continue to play the music instead of receiving this error?

Hey @jondang,

 

Thank you for reaching out to the Community. Yes, I have had that same issue. But to ensure that it does not keep happening. Every time you get back into Spotify, make sure you click on the Spotify app, then click on the play button. That has worked for me and, it hasn't occurred since.

 

If that doesn't work, I'd recommend you do a clean reinstall on the App, log out and back in. If it continues, restart your device.

 

Meanwhile, I will research this issue, and if I find a solution, I will let you know ASAP.

Thank you for getting back to me. For some reason that did not work for me, and I did a clean reinstall as well and deleted everything Spotify on my computer before reinstalling but it still gives me the same message!

Yep, I restarted my device after doing the clean reinstall. Then after booting back up I reinstalled Spotify

Here is one thing you can try and let me know if it works. Turn off crossfade and see if that works for you.

@Joel-M I'm not sure what happened, perhaps an update, but it seems to be working now without the error message! At least for now! XD Thank you for your help!
