songs not playing

I currently have spotify premium and full songs and albums are NOT playing. I will push play and the line at the bottom starts to fill with a little bit of the lime green progress bar as if it's about to play and then it stops. It shows the pause button too as if it is playing. This is only with some songs and albums, and it seems like files that I once had in my itunes (I now don't have any mp3 files on my computer, they're on my hard drive). I unchecked the local files in my preferences. I also deleted spotify and then reinstalled it. Still no luck! help!

 along with this I am unable to add songs to my starred playlist. I can add to any playlist EXCEPT for this one. I have never had such glitches with spotify before, is it possibly the new version?
